The Plan
For A Healthier Future

Reformed Healthcare. Affordable Living. Climate Action.

Why Vote For a Green MP?

Vote Green for real representation! A Green MP isn’t just a vote against a Conservative government—it’s a vote for a true community voice in Parliament.

Unlike Liberals, who have to follow party lines, Green MPs are independent, resilient, and free to stand up for what matters to you.

Green Hub of Health

At the heart of the plan is a simple but powerful idea: health is the foundation of our future. When we invest in healthcare, affordability, and climate action together, we can expect brighter days ahead.

Standing Strong for Canada’s Future

With new U.S. tariffs looming, Canada must stand up for our workers, businesses, and economic independence. Guelph thrives on innovation and sustainability—we can’t let unfair trade policies hold us back.

We need a more resilient economy, fairer trade, and support for workers and businesses. As a Green MP candidate, Dr. Anne-Marie will fight for a strong, independent, and hopeful future for Guelph and all Canadians.

In Guelph, we have taken the initiative to work across party lines for our community health and resilience in the face of tariff threats.

Reformed Healthcare

Healthcare should work for everyone, not just those who can afford to wait. As a physician, Dr. Anne-Marie has seen the challenges in our system firsthand. By investing in primary care, mental health and addictions, we can create a healthcare system that is efficient, accessible, and built to support every resident of Guelph. This includes working closely with Guelph MPP Mike Schriener to quickly build the planned new hospital in Guelph.

As a Member of Parliament, Dr. Anne-Marie would:

Reform the Canada Health Act.

The Canada Health Act hasn’t been updated since 1984. It must evolve to reflect the realities of today, where both physical and mental health are urgent . Wildfires, extreme heat, and pollution aren’t just environmental issues; they directly impact the physical health of people in our communities. At the same time, the mental health crisis is growing. By expanding the Act to recognize environmental and mental health as essential components of care, we can secure the funding and policies needed to protect Canadians from these emerging health threats.

Propose a Primary Care Health Act.

No one should be left without a doctor or forced to rely on emergency rooms for basic care. Dr. Anne-Marie will advocate for a Primary Care Act that guarantees every Canadian access to a family doctor or nurse practitioner. By investing in team-based care, expanding medical training programs, and improving working conditions for healthcare professionals, we can ensure that Guelph has the frontline care it needs. This includes working closely with Guelph MPP Mike Schreiner to get another hospital opened.

Address the misuse of federal healthcare funds.

Canadians expect their healthcare dollars to be spent wisely, yet billions in federal health transfers are being misused or redirected away from patient care. It’s time for full transparency and accountability. Dr. Anne-Marie’s plan will ensure that federal healthcare funding is tied to clear outcomes: more doctors, shorter wait times, and improved services. This way, every dollar invested directly benefits the people who need care the most.

Affordable Living

Life in Guelph should be affordable for everyone. Rising costs, inflation, and new U.S. tariffs are putting pressure on families and businesses. We have the power to turn things around and champion a National Housing Strategy that works– advocating for federal investments in deeply affordable and non-market housing, prioritizing co-ops, community housing, and purpose-built rentals. By supporting local businesses and ensuring fair housing policies, we can build a fair economy where no one is left behind. When we invest in people, we create a future where everyone has the security and opportunity they deserve.

As a Member of Parliament, Dr. Anne-Marie would:

Employ social workers on her constituency office team.

Navigating affordability challenges can be overwhelming. That’s why Dr. Anne-Marie will transform the role of an MP’s office, providing real, hands-on support for housing, disability benefits, and emergency services by hiring social workers instead of only policy staff. This initiative will make government more accessible and responsive to the needs of Guelph residents.

Advocate for health-focused solutions to affordability.

Affordability isn’t just about rising costs. It’s about ensuring people have what they need to live healthy, stable lives. Dr. Anne-Marie will champion policies that address affordability through a health-focused lens, advocating for better access to nutritious food, affordable prescriptions, and expanded mental health services. A healthier population means a stronger workforce and lower healthcare costs.

Support programs to help workers affected by new tariffs.

With new U.S. tariffs threatening businesses in Guelph, workers need immediate support. The plan is to push for federal programs that offer direct relief, retraining opportunities, and financial assistance to those impacted by economic shifts. By ensuring workers and small businesses have the resources to adapt, we can protect jobs, stabilize our local economy, and keep Guelph’s industries strong during uncertainty.

Climate Action

The future is green, and Guelph is ready to lead the way. Climate action isn’t just about protecting the environment—it’s about building a stronger, more resilient economy. By investing in clean energy, sustainable infrastructure, and local conservation efforts, we can create good jobs, lower energy costs, and secure a thriving future for generations to come. The solutions are clear, and together, we can build a Guelph with brighter days ahead.

As a Member of Parliament, Dr. Anne-Marie would:

Establish a Climate Change Advisory Team.

Addressing climate change requires bold action backed by science. Dr. Anne-Marie will assemble a Climate Change Advisory Team—a coalition of local experts, healthcare professionals, economists, and environmental advocates—to guide evidence-based policies that protect both our environment and our economy. By ensuring that decisions are informed by real-world expertise, we can implement strategies that build a more resilient Guelph, and ensure our communities are better-informed about climate change and its impacts.

Reduce carbon emissions in the healthcare sector.

The healthcare sector is responsible for nearly 5% of Canada’s total carbon emissions, contributing to the very health crises it seeks to solve. The plan is to push for policies that transition hospitals and clinics toward renewable energy, reduce medical waste, and implement sustainable procurement practices. By making healthcare greener, we not only cut emissions but also reduce costs and improve patient outcomes.

Treat climate change as a public health crisis.

Rising temperatures, extreme weather, and pollution are already impacting public health. Dr. Anne-Marie will advocate for climate change to be officially recognized as a public health crisis, unlocking federal funding for adaptation measures, emergency preparedness, and health-focused climate initiatives. By doing this, we can take meaningful action to protect our communities now and for generations to come.
